Taj Mahal, Agra

Taj Mahal, a mausoleum located in Agra, was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It took 22 years (1631 to 1653) and 20,000 people to build.

Taj Mahal – The fruit of love? The passion of love?

How would one describe its beauty?

A teardrop on the face of eternity – by an Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore.

The embodiment of all things pure – British writer Rudyard Kipling.

The main building before reaching
the mausoleum (above and below)

The no. of ‘domes’ (on top, front and behind)
denotes the no. of years it took to build

Beautiful reflection (above and below)

I am seeing it ‘Real’!

The inscriptions from the top to the bottom appear
to be of the same size. The optical illusion was created
by enlarging the calligraphy in proportion to the height
